Two New York City police officers responding to a robbery call were reportedly shot on Monday night in The Bronx.

Officers Andrew Dossi, 30, and Aliro Pellerano, 38 were among a group of officers who responded to the call at a Chinese restaurant at around 10:30 p.m. The two suspects were reportedly inside of the restaurant and one pulled out his gun and began shooting as he walked out of the establishment, reports the New York Post. The second suspect shot at police through the window, hitting Dossi and Pellerano, who were both in plainsclothes at the time.

Dossi was reportedly shot in the arm and back, and Pellerano was shot in the arm and abdomen, reports the New York Daily News. The officers were rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, where Dossi has been listed in critical but stable condition and Pellerano is in stable condition.

The suspects reportedly fled the scene on foot and continued to shoot at and be shot by the officers.

The two men allegedly carjacked a Camaro, but crashed a few streets away from the crime scene. They reportedly got out of the vehicle and began running again.

Police have recovered a weapon.

One of the alleged suspects reportedly sought treatment for a gunshot wound at New York Presbyterian Hospital, where police placed him under custody. However, it is still unclear how this person was shot and whether it was related to the robbery or not. The second suspect is still on the loose and the organization COP SHOT (Citizens Outraged at Police Being Shot) is offering a $10,000 cash reward for information leading to his arrest.

Mayor Bill de Blasio thanked the officers at a press conference on Tuesday night, reports NBC News.

As always, the city of New York and the NYPD will be with them through this challenge and as these officers recover, de Blasio said.
