An Indian village is welcoming the arrival of a calf born with three eyes
, believed to be an incarnation of the Hindu god Shiva.
Residents of Kolathur in southern India say that the calf is a good omen. They treat the animal as a god because Shiva is often portrayed with an eye in the middle of his forehead, just like the little calf.
Unlike the calf, however, Shiva's known to shoot flames from his third eye when upset or angry. He's the god of endless passion.
The calf has yet to show any signs of power. When hes not needed by villagers or visitors, he spends most of his time with his mother.
As for the eye on his forehead, it hasnt been confirmed whether its a deformity resembling an eye or actually a functioning organ.
