Any New Yorker with a bike can attest that riding the bike in the city
, while a great way to get around, is more than a little nerve-wracking at times.
Between the thousands of cars and pedestrians on each street not to mention traffic lights navigating on two wheels can feel like speeding through a maze toward your death.
Case in point: Getting doored happens way more often than it should, given the fact that there are bike lanes. Cabs stop, passengers get out and the unlucky biker who happens to be riding in that lane gets whacked in the chest and goes flying into the busy city street, which, obviously, can be extremely dangerous.
Check out the seriously painful footage (only the first minute or so matters) and remember: Always wear a helmet.
